However, the bullpen couldn&#8217;t hold the difference.\n\nLast year, the Japanese player hit <strong>54 home runs<\/strong>, and with this year&#8217;s 50, he reinforces his place in history. According to ESPN Research data, Ohtani is also the <strong>third player to achieve this in his first two seasons with the same team<\/strong>, along with Ruth (Yankees, 1920-21) and Rodriguez (Rangers, 2001-02).\n\nOther historical data shows that Ruth achieved it on two occasions (1920-21 and 1927-28), McGwire in four consecutive seasons (1996-1999), Sosa in another four (1998-2001), Griffey Jr. in 1997-98 and Rodriguez in 2001-02.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <strong>Aaron Judge<\/strong>, with 48 home runs this year with the Yankees, threatens to join this select list.
