{"id":483419,"date":"2025-09-18T19:35:50","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T23:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/camacoesrd-drives-debate-on-health-and-wellness-tourism-in-dr\/"},"modified":"2025-09-18T19:35:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T23:35:50","slug":"camacoesrd-drives-debate-on-health-and-wellness-tourism-in-dr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/dominican-news\/camacoesrd-drives-debate-on-health-and-wellness-tourism-in-dr\/","title":{"rendered":"CAMACOESRD drives debate on health and wellness tourism in DR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SANTO DOMINGO.<\/strong> \u2013 The Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in the Dominican Republic (CAMACOESRD), through its Tourism Committee, held the panel <strong>\u201cHealth and wellness tourism: new opportunities for tourism in the DR\u201d<\/strong>, within the framework of its traditional business breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>The activity was attended by the Minister of Public Health, <strong>V\u00edctor Atallah Lajam<\/strong>; the director of CONFOTUR of the Ministry of Tourism, <strong>Brenda Morales Mej\u00eda<\/strong>; the president of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS) and CEO of M\u00e9dico Express, <strong>Alejandro Cambiaso<\/strong>; and the president of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Development Foundation, <strong>Amelia Reyes Mora<\/strong>, who served as moderator.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You may be interested in<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/C\u00e1mara de Cuentas aprueba cuatro nuevas auditor\u00edas\">http:\/\/C\u00e1mara de Cuentas aprueba cuatro nuevas auditor\u00edas<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the opening, the president of CAMACOESRD, <strong>Paco P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, highlighted that the objective of the meeting was to analyze how the Dominican Republic can consolidate itself as a reference destination in health and wellness tourism, combining medical services, relaxation experiences and culture, which in turn boosts economic development and job creation.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e9rez emphasized that health tourism can position the country as an integral destination, with hospitals, clinics, spa resorts and aesthetic medicine, in addition to promoting digital health and comprehensive well-being under international quality and safety standards.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting concluded with a call to foster responsible and sustainable investments in the sector, to strengthen the competitiveness of the Dominican Republic in this segment.
