It will be the first time this Caribbean classic is played on a Major League stage.\n\nThe announcement was made by Erick Almonte and Yamil Ben\u00edtez,<\/strong> presidents of the professional baseball players’ unions of both countries, during a meeting with journalists in the stadium press room, headed by Alexandra Cohen, owner of the Mets, and which was attended by numerous communicators from the city.\n\n\n

This new edition will allow Dominicans and Puerto Ricans residing in the area to see their professional baseball idols in action,” said Yamil Ben\u00edtez, president of the Professional Baseball Players Association of Puerto Rico.\n\nFrom his side, Erick Almonte, president of the Dominican Republic’s National Federation of Professional Baseball Players (FENAPEPRO), highlighted the Mets’ support and the enthusiasm generated among the players. “I am convinced that we will fill the stadium.
