The president of Venezuela, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, sent a message to the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in which he urges them to defend the country against any internal and external threat, so that it “is untouchable” and the homeland is “totally defended”.<\/p>\n
“Generals, admirals, officers, soldiers, and female soldiers who listen to me, an achievement that the homeland is impregnable to any attempt at destabilization, that the homeland is untouchable and to turn Venezuela into a fully defended, protected, and peaceful homeland,” Maduro pointed out during a meeting with the high military command broadcast by the state channel VTV.<\/p>\n
Maduro highlighted that now, when the country is experiencing a direct threat from the U.S., with a constant siege and the risk of a possible military attack from the Caribbean, all State security forces are active and attentive, along with the civilian population, to defend the sovereignty and independence of the country.<\/p>\n
“We want peace, but with dignity, with freedom, with republic, with equality, with our own project, preserving our riches and respecting our sovereignty throughout the planet,” added the president.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Maduro highlighted that the country is shielded by all its land, air, and maritime borders.
