“By excluding these brotherly peoples, the Dominican government is turning its back on national sovereignty and betraying the tradition of integration, mutual respect, and self-determination that we have defended in the most difficult moments of our history,” said Maria Teresa Cabrera, President of the Frente Amplio.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nHe recalled that the Dominican Republic knows firsthand the effects of foreign intervention and that, in critical moments such as the 1965 invasion, it was precisely the solidarity of the Latin American peoples that supported the Dominican cause in defense of its independence.\n\n\n

“The feeling of our people is not one of servile obedience, but of dignity and self-determination.
