{"id":486213,"date":"2025-10-10T06:59:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T10:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/uasd-receives-land-in-sabana-grande-de-boya-to-build-a-university-extension-and-experimental-high-school\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T06:59:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T10:59:07","slug":"uasd-receives-land-in-sabana-grande-de-boya-to-build-a-university-extension-and-experimental-high-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/dominican-news\/uasd-receives-land-in-sabana-grande-de-boya-to-build-a-university-extension-and-experimental-high-school\/","title":{"rendered":"UASD receives land in Sabana Grande de Boy\u00e1 to build a university extension and experimental high school"},"content":{"rendered":"Monte Plata.<\/strong> \u2013 The Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Santo Domingo (UASD) received a plot of land of 8,825.48 square meters from the Dominican Agrarian Institute, with the purpose of building a new university extension and an experimental high school in the municipality of Sabana Grande de Boy\u00e1, in this province.\n\nThe delivery was formalized during an event led by the rector of the Primada de Am\u00e9rica, maestro Editrudis Beltr\u00e1n Cris\u00f3stomo, who highlighted the importance of this step to expand access to higher education in the region.\n\n“When UASD reaches the communities, a wide universe of opportunities opens up for the benefit of our people,” affirmed Beltr\u00e1n, highlighting that the University currently has no presence in that municipality.\n\nExisting infrastructure will be refurbished<\/strong>\n\nThe land has an initial infrastructure, which will be evaluated and adapted by a technical team from the state academy, with a view to enabling the first offices and classrooms in a preliminary phase of the project.\n\nThe rector stated that this initiative has a special value for him, due to his family ties with the community. “I did not want to conclude my term without establishing a university extension in this town,” he expressed.\n\nHe added that “when UASD reaches the communities, a wide universe of opportunities opens up for the benefit of our people,” he expressed.\n\nIn that order, Beltr\u00e1n stated that “the transfer of land excites me in a special way because of the connection I have with this town, where close relatives reside, and I did not want to conclude my management without leaving an extension of the University in this locality in operation.”\n\nHowever, the general director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute, Dar\u00edo Castillo Lugo, and the mayor of Sabana Grande de Boy\u00e1, Marcos Antonio Tav\u00e1rez Fern\u00e1ndez, agreed on highlighting the relevance of the project, which will facilitate access to higher education for hundreds of young people from low-income backgrounds in the municipality and surrounding areas.\n\n\n


University expansion in Monte Plata<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nDuring his intervention, Beltr\u00e1n recalled that, at the beginning of his administration in 2022, the province of Monte Plata did not have any center, subcenter or extension of the UASD. It was from 2023, with the support of President Luis Abinader, that centers began to operate in Monte Plata and Yamas\u00e1, and now Sabana Grande de Boy\u00e1 joins the academic expansion plan.\n\n\n


Experimental high school, part of the integral project<\/p>\n\n\n


In addition to the university extension, the project includes the construction of an experimental high school, under the academic model that UASD has successfully implemented in other provinces, as part of its commitment to comprehensive education.<\/p>\n\n


Beltr\u00e1n thanked the Dominican Agrarian Institute and the local Mayor’s Office for their support, and reiterated UASD’s commitment to continue bringing quality higher education to all corners of the country.
