Karate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\nAthletes Grisley Guzm\u00e1n, from the Cibao Sur zone, and James Dur\u00e1n, from Cibao Norte, took home the gold medals in the women’s and men’s individual Kata modality, respectively, at the start of karate in the XI National School Sports Games.\n\nGrisley Guzm\u00e1n (Cibao Sur) demonstrated superior technique to take first place. The silver medal went to Dana V\u00e1squez, representing Cibao Norte, while Gabriela de los Santos, from the Metro 1 zone, completed the podium with the bronze.\n\nOn the men’s side, James Dur\u00e1n (Cibao Norte) was crowned champion, showing great skill and precision in his execution. Second place went to Guillermo S\u00e1nchez, from Metro 1. Third place was shared by Joskeny Ochoa, from the Metro 2 zone, and Adri\u00e1n Romano, from Cibao Sur, who took home the bronze medal.\n\n\n

Table tennis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\nThe El Higuamo and Cibao Norte zones were proclaimed champions in the women’s and men’s table tennis team tournament, respectively, within the calendar of the XI National School Sports Games (JEDN).\n\nThe event was held at the Polivalente Willyvaldo Paulino Rivas, located in the municipality of Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province.\n\nIn the women’s category, the representative El Higuamo was crowned champion by defeating Cibao Norte with a score of 3-0, who took the silver medal. The Cibao Sur and Suroeste zones shared the bronze medals.\n\nIn the men’s category, the Cibao Norte team defeated Metropolitana I 3-1 to win the championship title and the gold medal. Metropolitana I obtained the silver, and the bronze medals were shared between Metropolitana II and El Higuamo.\n\nIn the women’s category, the gold medals and souvenirs were presented to the champion team of El Higuamo by National Team athlete Eva Brito, the outstanding Dominican protocol lady Eladia \u201cTuty\u201d Cordero, and the president of the Dominican Table Tennis Federation, Gary Hern\u00e1ndez.\n\nThe runners-up of Cibao Norte received their silver medals from the hands of the vice mayor of the municipality of Salcedo, Italia L\u00f3pez, and the deputy director of the Educational District 07-02, Professor Jorge Vald\u00e9s.\n\nThe bronze medals were awarded to Cibao Sur and Suroeste by lawyer Benjam\u00edn Puello, legal director of INEFI, and district technician F\u00e9lix Reynoso.\n\nIn the men’s division, the gold medals and souvenirs were awarded to the Cibao Norte champion team by Benjam\u00edn Puello, Italia L\u00f3pez, and Jorge Vald\u00e9s.\n\nThe silver medals of Metropolitana I were presented by Gary Hern\u00e1ndez and Eva Brito, while the bronze medals, shared between Metropolitana II and El Higuamo, were awarded by Eladia \u201cTuty\u201d Cordero and F\u00e9lix Reynoso.\n\n\n

Weightlifting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe athletes Scali M\u00e9ndez, Lesslie Pe\u00f1a Adames, Eriandy Su\u00e1rez, and Walin Reyes won the gold medals in the snatch and clean & jerk during the start of the weightlifting competitions of the XI San Francisco 2025 National School Sports Games.\n\nThe Enriquillo Club served as the stage for the competitive days of this school festival that has this sub-headquarters province.\n\nM\u00e9ndez, from the Southwest zone, was proclaimed champion in the women’s 44-kilogram category by lifting 35 kgs in the snatch and 46 in the clean and jerk. The silver medal went to Dulia Joseph (25 kgs and 36 kgs), from Metropolitan II, and the bronze to Yulaimy Soriano Berra (24 kgs and 27 kgs).\n\nIn the 48 kilos, in addition to Pe\u00f1a Adames achieving gold in the snatch (46 kgs) and clean & jerk (55 kgs), Lusanny Jim\u00e9nez Familia (40 kgs and 50 kgs), from Cibao Sur, and Nashley Thoas V\u00edctor (30 kgs and 40 kgs), from Southwest, respectively, also conquered silver.\n\nIn the men’s category, Su\u00e1rez and Reyes won the gold medal in the 56 and 60 kg categories for women, respectively, in the snatch event. Su\u00e1rez was followed on the podium by Brayan Beltr\u00e9 de Le\u00f3n, from the El Valle area, while the bronze went to Josua Mart\u00ednez Capell\u00e1n, from Cibao Sur.\n\nOn his side, in the sending of the 56 kgs., the second place was for Mart\u00ednez Capell\u00e1n, from Cibao Sur and the third place for Yeil\u00edn Fern\u00e1ndez Padua.\n\nOn his side, Reyes conquered the first-place metal in the 60-kilogram men’s snatch, followed by Eyden Cid Peguero, from El Valle, and Emanuel Mar\u00ed\u00f1ez de Jes\u00fas. In contrast, in the clean and jerk, the top three places went to Reyes, Mar\u00ed\u00f1ez de Jes\u00fas, and Leonardo Labot Noel.\n\n\n

Basketball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe Higuamo team stopped the momentum of the Northeast team, to win 51 to 44 in the first game this Thursday of the basketball tournament of the National School Sports Games.\n\nCaptain Yerri Contreras led Higuamo’s offense, with 20 points, followed by Julio Rijo with 15 units and 12 rebounds. For the Northeast, Enmanuel Amparo was the most outstanding with 12 points and 22 rebounds, while Angelo Lajara contributed 7 points and 13 rebounds.\n\nHiguamo dominated a large part of the match, managing to have a 13-point lead (46-33) thanks to their consistency in field goals (30%) and their control of the game.\n\n\n

Cibao Norte 79, 63 Metropolitano I  63<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nCibao Norte maintained its firm pace and authoritatively defeated the Metropolitano I team 79 to 63, with the great work of its squad and dominance on the boards.\n\nCaptain Raynier Pe\u00f1a led the Cibao offensive, with 20 points, followed by Daneurys Vidal, with 17 points, and Lasniel Gonz\u00e1lez, with eight points and 13 rebounds.\n\nBy Metropolitano I, Jaiden Guill\u00e9n was again a key player with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Fernando Pe\u00f1a added 12 points and 8 rebounds.\n\n\n

Men’s Volleyball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\nVilla Tapia. The representative sextets from the Northeast, Cibao Norte, El Valle, and Southwest zones qualified for the semi-finals of the Men’s Volleyball tournament within the framework of the XI National School Sports Games (JEDN), organized by the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI).\n\nThe Volleyball discipline is held at the Fedevita Sports Center in the municipality of Villa Tapia, Hermanas Mirabal province, where the Northeast hosts concluded the regular series with an undefeated record of 4-0, securing first place in Group A.\n\nIn that same key, Cibao Norte finished second with 3-1, while the Metropolitan II, El Higuamo and Northwest zones were eliminated with a 1-3 record each.\n\nIn Group B, a three-way tie occurred between El Valle, Suroeste, and Metropolitana I, all with 2-2, with El Valle (first) and Suroeste (second) qualifying due to a better point difference. Metropolitana I and Cibao Sur were eliminated, the latter with a record of 0-3.\n\nDuring the day of this Thursday, two decisive matches were held.\n\nIn the first one, Cibao Norte defeated Metropolitana II 2-0 with partial scores of 25-21 and 25-22.\n\nSteven Reyes led the winning offense with 12 points (11 attacks and 2 serves), followed by Yordany Torres with 9 points (7 attacks and 2 blocks).\n\nFor the defeated, Yohan Coronado had 9 points (5 attacks, 3 blocks and 3 services) and Joseph Vinicio with 8 points.\n\nIn the closing of the day, Nordeste defeated El Higuamo 2-0 with partials of 25-11 and 25-19, securing their undefeated classification.\n\nDarlin Garc\u00eda was once again the offensive figure with 9 points (4 attacks and 5 services), supported by Breini Garc\u00eda with 6 points.\n\nFor the defeated, Juan Hern\u00e1ndez (5 points, all in attacks) and Carlos Monegro (3 points, with 2 attacks and a block).\n\nFirst thing in the morning, Northeast and Southwest will face each other, while in the final match, El Valle and Cibao Norte will measure forces.\n\nThe losing teams will compete for third place on Saturday at 8:30 in the morning, and then the winners will play for the gold medal.\n\nFUTSAL<\/strong>\n\n\n
