Both zones have the option of displacing El Valle from the third position. Cibao Sur has 16 golds, 27 silvers and 33 bronzes, while El Suroeste has 16 gold medals, 19 silvers and 29 bronzes.\n\n\n

WEIGHTLIFTING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nZona Higuamo, weightlifting champion in School Games\n\nLA VEGA.- The Higuamo zone was proclaimed champion of the weightlifting competitions after accumulating a total of 29 medals at the conclusion of the competitions in this discipline, which was part of the calendar of the XI National School Sports Games San Francisco 2025 and which took place at the Enriquillo Club in this sub-venue city.\n\nThe second place went to the representative of Cibao Southwest, with 13 medals, while the weightlifting team of Cibao Sur took the third step with 17 metals.\n\nThe Higuamo medals were distributed in 20 gold, six silver and three bronze, while those of Cibao Southwest in four gold, three silver and six bronze. Meanwhile, those of Cibao Sur were divided into three first place, ten second place and four third place.\n\nAfter the last weightlifting day this Friday, 22 medals were awarded, of which Higuamo, made up of athletes\/students from San Pedro de Macor\u00eds and Hig\u00fcey, won eight medals, divided into six gold and two silver, while Cibao Suroeste won four (two gold and the same number of silvers), followed by Cibao Sur with four as well (one silver and three bronze), while Noroeste took home four metals, all in third place.\n\n\n

WOMEN’S SOFTBALL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\nLA VEGA.- The Southwest zone won the gold medal in women’s softball at the XI San Francisco 2025 National School Sports Games by defeating the Northeast team 6 runs to 1.\n\nThe final game was held at the softball stadium of the vegan sports complex.\n\nIt is the second consecutive time that the representatives of the Southwest zone (Barahona and Neyba) have won the gold medal, precisely against this same rival, who obtained the silver. The previous occasion occurred in the National School Sports Games Barahona 2023.\n\nCarola Feliz was the most outstanding player, offensively, by connecting a double with three RBIs. Meanwhile, Eliza Gar\u00f3 had a good pitching performance by throwing a complete game of six innings, in which she did not allow a hit, one run, gave four walks and struck out five.\n\nThe loss went to Emely Alm\u00e1nzar, who accepted six runs (five of them earned) as a result of three hits, five walks, and seven strikeouts.\n\nThe bronze medal went to the Cibao Norte zone, which defeated Cibao Sur 13-1. Franchesca Paulino and Jonlie Charles drove in two runs each, while Elvelis Reyes and Aleska Zabala produced one run apiece for the winners.\n\nOn their side, Aranza Delgadillo was the most outstanding for the defeated with a push.\n\nElvelis Reyes earned the win by working four innings, allowing one run, two walks, and striking out seven. On the other hand, the loss went to Oreily Morales, after pitching three innings of seven hits, eight runs, four walks, and two strikeouts.\n\n\n

Table Tennis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe Higuamo takes the gold in mixed and women’s doubles\n\nSalcedo. The El Higuamo and Cibao Norte zones continue to dominate the discipline of Table Tennis, by winning the gold medals in the Mixed Doubles and Women’s Doubles modalities by El Higuamo, and in Men’s Doubles by Cibao Norte, within the framework of the XI National School Sports Games (JEDN).\n\nThe competitions take place at the Polivalente Willyvaldo Paulino Rivas, located in the municipality of Salcedo, the official sub-venue for this discipline.\n\nIn mixed doubles, the gold medal went to El Higuamo representatives Jairo Robles and Eduarny de la Cruz.\n\nSilver also remained in the hands of this area, thanks to the duo formed by Harold Hern\u00e1ndez and Sandra Mej\u00eda, while the bronze was shared by the couples of Cibao Norte, Eydhrian Paulino and Dixsany Silverio, and Dariel Bernard and Lesli P\u00e9rez.\n\nIn women’s doubles, the champions and gold medalists were Eduarny de la Cruz and Sandra Mej\u00eda, from El Higuamo.\n\nSilver went to her zone teammates Aneidy Polanco and Ana Sosa, and bronze went to the Cibao Sur duo, Arianisbell Ruiz and Mers Cabrera.\n\nFinally, in men’s doubles, the representatives of Cibao Norte, Dariel Bernard and Edwin Mart\u00ednez, took the gold medal.\n\nThe second place went to Samuel Gil and Juan Chalas from the Metropolitan Zone I, while the bronze was shared between Jairo Robles and Harold Hern\u00e1ndez (El Higuamo) and Eydhrian Paulino and V\u00edctor Lebr\u00f3n (Cibao Sur).\n\n\n
