Nobel Prize for Maria Corina Machado<\/h2>\n\n\nLast Friday, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that the opponent of the Maduro regime, Mar\u00eda Corina Machado, was the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.\n\nHours later, Machado dedicated his award to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and to Venezuelans.\n\nIn an interview with the newspaper El Mercurio, Machado, 58 years old, stated that “It has been a very long and painful road, but I feel that we are reaching the final hours.”\n\nHe also said that “It has had an impressive effect. It is very beautiful because Venezuelans say ‘we all earned it’. This is a recognition of their feat, of society. A country that is united in a tremendously painful moment, but with enormous hope.”\n\nThe former congresswoman went into hiding in August of last year, after Chavismo attributed the victory in the presidential elections of July 28, 2024, to Nicol\u00e1s Maduro, although they still haven’t shown the records of those elections, and that according to the records gathered by the opposition, the winner was Edmundo Gonz\u00e1lez, now exiled in Spain.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
