“The institution reaffirms its commitment to transparency and respect for due process, and makes it clear that it does not and will never protect acts of harassment, abuse or violence against women, under any circumstances and regardless of who commits them,” said the minister.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

Raful <\/a>reported that the accused officer was preventively suspended while a formal investigation is carried out to clarify the facts.<\/p>\n\n\n

Report from the ex-cadet’s mother<\/h3>\n\n\nThe victim’s mother gave statements on the television program El Show del Mediod\u00eda<\/em>, where she accused Major Jos\u00e9 Manuel Luciano Soriano, deputy director of the police academy, of having drugged and raped her daughter.\n\nThe case remains under investigation while the authorities assure they will act “in accordance with due process and without impunity.”\n\n\n
