Results above the threshold of 50 indicate a positive performance for the industry and greater activity in relation to the previous month.

This index is composed of five variables: sales, production, jobs, inventories, and delivery times.

In September, three of the five variables showed an upward trend compared to August: “Sales volume” increased from 57.6 to 65.5; “employment” reversed its downward trend and rose above the 50.0 barrier, going from 47.1 in August to 53.0 in September; and “supplier delivery time” which increased from 51.0 in August to 54.0 in September 2025.

Instead, “production volume” decreased from 58.9 in August to 58.6 in September, while “raw materials inventory” fell from 56.9 in August to 55.0 in September.

That is to say, the five variables remained above the 50.0 barrier.

The following table shows the behavior of the IMAM adjusted by seasonal factor from September 2024 to September 2025.

About the IMAM

Due to the possibility of conducting surveys and receiving their responses quickly, this indicator allows obtaining information on economic trends prior to the publication of official statistics and serves as a reference for economists, opinion makers, and decision-makers, predicting the trends of the economic performance of the sector.

The index is constructed through monthly surveys conducted with the general managers and/or purchasing managers of the companies associated with AIRD.
