Also included are Major <strong>Hansel Michel Cuevas Carrasco<\/strong>, Sergeant Major <strong>S\u00f3crates Fidel F\u00e9liz F\u00e9liz<\/strong>, Sergeant <strong>Hairo Mateo Morillo<\/strong>, Corporal <strong>C\u00e9sar Augusto Mart\u00ednez Trinidad<\/strong> and Private <strong>Jos\u00e9 Octavio Jim\u00e9nez Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>, belonging to the Regional Sub-Directorate of Cibao Central Investigation.\n\nThe <strong>Public Ministry<\/strong>, headed by the head of the Specialized Prosecutor&#8217;s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (<strong>Pepca<\/strong>), <strong>Wilson Camacho<\/strong>, along with a prosecutor from Santiago, requested <strong>18 months of preventive detention<\/strong> and that the case be declared complex, arguing that there is sufficient evidence to compromise the criminal responsibility of the agents.\n\nThe police officers are charged with <strong>criminal association and voluntary homicide<\/strong>, charges that the Prosecutor&#8217;s Office supports with documentary, testimonial, and expert evidence that, according to the prosecution, demonstrates the direct participation of the accused in the event.\n\nThe lawyer <strong>Esteban P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, legal representative of the family of <strong>Vladimir Valerio Est\u00e9vez<\/strong>, one of the victims, expressed his confidence that Magistrate Cabral will make a decision in accordance with the law, noting that \u201cthere is convincing evidence against the police officers\u201d.\n\nThis process has become one of the most followed court cases in Santiago, due to the magnitude of the event, the number of people involved, and the social pressure demanding justice for the victims of La Barranquita.
