<\/p>\n\n\nSanto Domingo<\/em>. \u2014 The president of the national and Caribbean champions, Leones del Escogido<\/strong>, Eduardo Najri<\/strong>, stated that the team is focused and motivated to defend the crown obtained in the past 2024-2025 season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM)<\/strong>.\n\n\n

\u201cWe come from a streak of eight or nine years without winning, and that’s the pressure one really doesn’t want to feel. The pressure of repeating, that’s easier to bear. Our fanbase expects us to win every year, and we, as a board, work for that,\u201d he expressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nNajri valued the team’s commitment and preparation to revalidate the championship, highlighting that the core of returning players and the new integrations strengthen the team’s structure.\n\n\n

“The group we have returning and joining the team early is very positive. As you know, we have a new leader, the Puerto Rican Alex Cintr\u00f3n<\/strong>, and a renewed coaching staff. That combination of experience and fresh energy will be key to starting strong,” he pointed out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nWhen asked about the star players who could join later in the season, Najri indicated that it is still to be defined, but he was optimistic about the possibility of seeing outstanding figures in the tournament.\n\n\n

“Many players had great seasons in the Major Leagues, and with the World Baseball Classic approaching, we believe that several of them could join winter baseball to prepare. That will benefit both Escogido and the league in general,” he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nFinally, the scarlet president sent a message to the team’s loyal fanbase, ahead of the start of the season that begins this Wednesday, October 15<\/strong> with the opening game between Tigres del Licey and Leones del Escogido<\/strong> at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium<\/strong>.\n\n\n
