Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 The Dominican Postal Institute (INPOSDOM) released a commemorative postal issue titled \u201cGlorias del Deporte y la M\u00fasica de San Carlos\u201d<\/strong>, dedicated to fourteen outstanding personalities from that sector of the capital.<\/p>\n\n\nThe activity was led by the general director of INPOSDOM, Erick Guzm\u00e1n N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/strong>, and was carried out with the presence of authorities and special guests. During the event, the collection was presented, divided into two series: \u201cGlorias del Deporte de San Carlos\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cGlorias de la M\u00fasica de San Carlos\u201d<\/strong>.\n\nThe honorees in the sports series are Manuel Henr\u00edquez, Antonio Mart\u00ednez, Sergio Abreu, Fausto Ceja Rodr\u00edguez, Iv\u00e1n Mieses, Luis \u201cPi\u00f1ao\u201d Ortiz and Francisco Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>. In the musical series, Carlos Piantini, Francis Santana, Milton Pel\u00e1ez, Fernando Echavarr\u00eda, Ricardo Ure\u00f1a, Santiago Cer\u00f3n and Milly Quezada<\/strong> are recognized.\n\n\n

The stamps were printed on tropicalized and gummed paper, with 13\u00bd perforation. The design was made by the architect Alejandro Vignieri<\/strong>, and the printing was in charge of Editorama<\/strong>.\n\nThe issuance was authorized by Decree No. 606-23<\/strong>, dated November 29, 2023<\/strong>, and is part of the philatelic series No. 13-25<\/strong> of INPOSDOM.\n\nSan Carlos, founded in 1685, is recognized as a sector with relevant contributions to the history, culture, and sports of the Dominican Republic. This initiative is part of INPOSDOM’s efforts to preserve and disseminate cultural heritage through philately.\n\n\n
