Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 The president of the party Generaci\u00f3n de Servidores (GenS), Carlos Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>, expressed his sorrow for the death of Lyedger Pe\u00f1a Encarnaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, security employee of the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Santo Domingo (UASD)<\/strong>, who died on Saturday after being injured in the shooting that occurred on Thursday on the university campus.<\/p>\n\n\nDuring his visit to the Blandino funeral home, Pe\u00f1a revealed that the victim was the son of his first cousin and described the event as a sign of the insecurity affecting the country.\n\n\n

We need to get closer to God, may He bring us peace, comfort and support, because one day we go out into the streets and we don’t know what we will find,” he expressed.\n\nThe former congressman also stated that the Pe\u00f1a family is deeply saddened by the loss and asked that personal conflicts be resolved through dialogue and not violence.\n\n\n
