<\/p>\n\n\nNew York.<\/strong> \u2013 The Puerto Rico Professional Baseball Players Association (APPPR) officially announced the realization of the historic \u201cShowdown NYC 2025\u201d<\/strong>, an unprecedented confrontation between the professional baseball teams of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic<\/strong>, which will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025<\/strong> at Citi Field<\/strong>, home of the New York Mets.\n\n\n

The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.<\/strong>, on a day that will also include cultural, gastronomic, and musical activities that will celebrate the brotherhood between both countries.\n\n\n

\u201cThis meeting marks a before and after for Caribbean professional baseball. Doing it at Citi Field fills us with pride and will be a cultural and sporting celebration,\u201d expressed Yamil Ben\u00edtez<\/strong>, president of the APPPR, who highlighted the collaboration with the National Federation of Professional Baseball Players of the Dominican Republic (FENAPEPRO)<\/strong>, the New York Mets<\/strong> and the Major League Baseball (MLB)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nDuring the day, a special ceremony will be held dedicated to former players Carlos Delgado<\/strong> and Robinson Can\u00f3<\/strong>, symbols of Puerto Rican and Dominican baseball, respectively.
Delgado, who will be honorary manager of the Puerto Rico All Star team<\/strong>, will receive a tribute with all the players wearing the number 21<\/strong>, the same one he used with the Mets. Meanwhile, Can\u00f3<\/strong> will be honored with the number 24<\/strong>, which will be worn by the players of the Dominican Republic All Star team.\n\nDelgado expressed his gratitude:\n\n\n

“I am honored that this game has been dedicated to me. It’s a great opportunity to promote baseball and share with the new generations. It will be very special to return to Citi Field, where I lived great moments”.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe technical staff of Puerto Rico will be headed by Wilfredo \u201cCoco\u201d Cordero<\/strong> (Indios de Mayag\u00fcez) along with Stephen Morales<\/strong>, Jos\u00e9 \u201cCheo\u201d Rosado<\/strong>, Jos\u00e9 Molina<\/strong>, Edwards Guzm\u00e1n<\/strong>, Robinson Cancel<\/strong> and Andy Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>.\n\nFor his part, Carlos Beltr\u00e1n<\/strong> will serve as an honorary coach<\/strong>, highlighting the value of this meeting:\n\n\n
