\u201cThis is a component that is giving us useful information for the measures that we from the State must take, and also so that Civil Defense can identify the number of people affected and their level of poverty,\u201d Reyes expressed during the SINI meeting, held at the Civil Defense headquarters.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe official highlighted that, due to the characteristics of the storm Melissa \u2014 as explained by Civil Defense, the Emergency Operations Center (COE)<\/strong> and the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet)<\/strong> \u2014, it is a phenomenon that moves slowly, so the monitoring work is carried out minute by minute<\/strong>.\n\nLikewise, it reported that, as the social arm of the Government, the regional teams of the Sup\u00e9rate Social Development Directorate (DDSS)<\/strong> are deployed in the territory to provide specialized attention to the Sup\u00e9rate families<\/strong>, many of whom reside in vulnerable areas to this type of phenomenon.\n\nFor his part, Bernardo Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, deputy director of Civil Defense, reported that some 5,000 volunteers<\/strong> have been deployed throughout the national territory to provide the support demanded by the population.
