You may be interested<\/strong>:Dominican Sports Hall of Fame announces the symbol bearers for the 59th Exaltation Ceremony<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nGaribaldy Bautista, president of the COD, and Dulce Mar\u00eda Pi\u00f1a, director of the Women and Sports Commission, presented a recognition plaque to the 12 new inhabitants of the mountain of the gods of national sport, during the welcome lunch held by the Permanent Committee of the Hall of Fame.\n\n“We are very honored to share with each of them, that starting Sunday they will be immortal. We congratulate the exalted and wish them the greatest success and good feelings in what remains of their lives,” said Bautista, who highlighted the high significance that it has for the COD to recognize the trajectory of the future immortals of Sport.\n\nThe also immortal Dulce Mar\u00eda Pi\u00f1a, on behalf of the COD executive committee and the Women and Sports Commission, thanked for the space and support provided by the Permanent Committee of the Hall of Fame, chaired by Dr. Dionisio Guzm\u00e1n, so that the Dominican Olympic Committee could recognize the trajectory of the athletes who from Sunday will become immortals.\n\nIn addition to Pi\u00f1a, the Women and Sports Commission includes volleyball player Camil Dom\u00ednguez and taekwondo athlete Luisito Pie.\n\nThe baseball players Jos\u00e9 Reyes, Edwin Encarnaci\u00f3n, and Jos\u00e9 Offerman were presented with their plaques. Likewise, Juan Carlos Jacinto (judo), Rub\u00e9n Salom\u00f3n (karate), Joan Guzm\u00e1n (boxing), Charlie Villanueva (basketball), Gonzalo Mej\u00eda (tennis), Wilfredo Almonte (athletics), and Luis Ben\u00edtez (taekwondo) were also honored.\n\nThe plaque corresponding to France Jackson (volleyball) was received by her teammate Cosiris Rodr\u00edguez, while that of the deceased volleyball coach Beato Miguel Cruz was removed by his son Cristian Cruz, who was inducted into immortality last year.\n\nDuring the welcome lunch, the Permanent Committee of the Hall of Fame recognized the contributions and careers of photojournalists Antonio Garc\u00eda Valoy and Valent\u00edn P\u00e9rez Terrero.
