Braun.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You may be interested in:<\/strong> <a>http:\/\/Abinader announces that DR and the DEA are preparing &#8220;more extensive and in-depth&#8221; actions against drug trafficking<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nIn 2024, exports from this sector reached <strong>US$2,800 million<\/strong>, equivalent to <strong>33.4 %<\/strong> of exports from free trade zones and <strong>22.2 %<\/strong> of the national total. Accumulated investment amounts to <strong>US$1,940.4 million<\/strong>, generating <strong>33,525 direct jobs<\/strong>, mostly held by women.\n\nThe main manufactured products include medical devices, transfusion equipment, sutures, ostomy bags, neurosurgical valves, and respiratory items. Its main destinations are the United States, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, and China.\n\nRegarding the electrical and electronic sector, Abinader pointed out that <strong>29 companies<\/strong> operate in the country, whose exports totaled <strong>US$1,164.4 million<\/strong> in 2024.
