This Monday was scheduled to begin the preliminary hearing, after the Sixth Instruction Court was empowered to hear this stage of the process. The beginning of the hearing was rescheduled for December 15, partially accepting the defense’s request, which required a deadline extension to study the accusation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial request by the defense was for between 45 and 60 days, which was opposed by the Public Ministry, represented by prosecutor Jonathan P\u00e9rez Fulcar, who stated that 25 days was more than a reasonable time to study all the evidence offered in the 338-page indictment presented by the accusing body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


About the case<\/strong>
The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) filed charges against ten individuals and seven companies linked to a network of administrative corruption and money laundering dismantled through Operation Chameleon.
Among the accused are Hugo Beras, former director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant); Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel G\u00f3mez Cana\u00e1n (Jochi G\u00f3mez), owner of Aurix S.A.S.; Pedro Vinicio Padovani B\u00e1ez, former head of the Intrant Traffic Control Center, and Samuel Gregorio Baquero Sep\u00falveda, former director of Technology of the Intrant.<\/p>\n\n\nAlso, Frank Rafael Atilano D\u00edaz Warden, former Dispatch coordinator and Beras representative before the Purchasing Committee; Juan Francisco \u00c1lvarez Carbuccia, administrative and financial director of Intrant, and Carlos Jos\u00e9 Peguero Vargas. Mariano Gustini, Manuel Eduardo Mora V\u00e1zquez and Henry Dar\u00edo Felipe Casso joined the accusation.\n\n


The legal entities accused are Transcore Latam S.R.L., AURIX S.A.S., INPROSOL S.R.L., OML Inversiones S.R.L., PagoRD Xchange S.R.L., Industria Soltex Dominicana S.R.L., and Dekolor S.R.L.<\/p>\n\n\n
