Morosi expressed confidence that Miami could finalize a move involving one of these two pitchers in the coming weeks.\n\nAlc\u00e1ntara, 30 years old, finished last season with an ERA of <strong>5.36 in 174.2 innings<\/strong>, his first year after returning from Tommy John surgery. However, his finish was encouraging: he recorded <strong>3.13 ERA in his last 12 starts<\/strong>. The winner of the <strong>2022 National League Cy Young<\/strong> is under contract for <strong>US$17.3 million in 2026<\/strong>, and a club option of <strong>US$21 million for 2027<\/strong>.\n\nFor his part, Cabrera, 27 years old, has shown the talent to become a high-caliber starter, but injuries and inconsistent control have hampered his progress. In 2025, he took a step forward by reducing his career walk rate (13.3%) to 8.3%, pitched 137.2 innings, the most of his career, and recorded an ERA of 3.32, with 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings.
