The Forum’s agenda was marked by key interventions that provided diagnoses, local experiences, and action proposals.\n\nSandra Patargo, Protection Coordinator for the Americas at Front Line Defenders, shared a regional overview of the threats faced by human rights defenders in Latin America. She highlighted the relevance of the space and valued the Dominican articulation as a necessary commitment to collective protection, underlining that regional exchange strengthens local security and sustainability strategies.\n\n\n

She explained that, faced with this scenario, the Alliance of Defenders emerges as an articulated and collective response for protection. Rodr\u00edguez also presented the main findings of the report “Dynamics of hate speech on social networks: Findings to advance the guarantee of rights”, which shows how disinformation and digital hate are deteriorating political dialogue and citizen participation.\n\nSubsequently, Cinthya Amanecer, director of La Ceiba, delved into the vision of the Alliance from the perspective of care, stating that the articulation is not only strategic, but also a commitment to collective care, essential to sustain the work of defending rights in adverse contexts.\n\nAmong the main agreements of the Forum, it was defined that the Alliance will continue to focus on strengthening the capacities in comprehensive protection and security of defenders, promoting training actions, support networks and response mechanisms for contexts of risk.\n\nThe activity was organized by the Alliance of Defenders of the Dominican Republic, made up of organizations and social movements committed to human rights, including: Anticanon Project, La Ceiba, Centro Montalvo, Sociocultural Movement of Humanitarian and Environmental Work (MOTSCHA), M\u00e1s Derechos (FES, CIPAF, Ciudad Alternativa and CIDEL) and Acento.
