Santo Domingo.-<\/strong> The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District<\/strong> imposed three months of preventive detention, as a coercive measure, on a taxi driver accused of causing the death of a man in the Evaristo Morales sector, National District, on November 14th.<\/p>\n\n\nThe coercive measure was imposed on Luis Arsenio Philismart B\u00e1ez,<\/strong> whom the Public Ministry holds responsible for the death of Raider Cruz Jim\u00e9nez, this body stated in a statement released this Friday.\n\n\n

You may be interested in<\/strong>: Preventive prison is ordered against the accused for the death of Amando Marte in Cotu\u00ed<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nThe prosecuting body, represented by prosecutor Vidalis Mora D\u00edaz, demonstrated to the court the seriousness of the acts committed by the defendant, who did not present guarantees that he could respond to the process with a coercive measure other than imprisonment, the document stated.\n\nAccording to the record, the events occurred on the morning of November 14th, after the victim, Raider Cruz Jim\u00e9nez, and Mrs. Davana Zapata Real concluded a trip in the taxi service provided by Philismart B\u00e1ez.\n\nUpon arriving at the residence they were heading to, Zapata Real realized he had forgotten his bank card in the Kia vehicle, model K5, silver color, license plate A774607, owned by Baez, who was contacted and returned to the place where he had left the victim and his companion, conditioning the delivery of the card to a new payment for having moved once more to the residence.\n\nFaced with this demand from Philismart B\u00e1ez, a discussion ensued in which Cruz Jim\u00e9nez tried to snatch the card, an action in response to which the defendant started the vehicle towards Winston Churchill Avenue, and the victim, who had been hanging from the driver’s window, fell to the pavement, resulting in severe multiple blunt trauma, which caused his death.\n\nThe accused stopped when Cruz Jim\u00e9nez fell to the pavement, but left the scene, abandoning it, actions that were captured by the security cameras in the area.\n\nBy decision of Judge Rigoberto Sena B\u00e1ez, he will serve preventive detention in the La Victoria Penitentiary Center.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
