\u201cWe want every prosecutor handling a case of gender-based and domestic violence to have access to a technical study by professionals on the situation in which it occurs and the context of that violence. There should not be a single case in the Dominican Republic of gender-based, domestic, and sexual violence that does not have social work. We firmly believe that this is essential,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nIn the framework of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, <\/strong>the “Sinergia Vital” event<\/strong> was held, the Attorney General’s Office in conjunction with the Ministries of Interior and Police and Women, and aimed at keeping collective awareness awake in the face of sexist violence and, at the same time, calling for a greater commitment to its prevention in homes and in the social environment.\n\n\n

\u201cGender violence is not an outburst of anger, gender violence is not an isolated tragedy, it is a problem of society as a whole, above all, it is the most cruel manifestation of an unequal system. Today the Public Ministry of the Dominican Republic that we are honored to represent wants to share that strategic vision that we have from the Public Ministry\u201d, Reynoso indicated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe Attorney General also announced the simplification of the Life Line number so that users can access urgent assistance by dialing only *211. She highlighted the initiative of her administration so that the country can have 35 legal representation service offices for victims.\n\n\n

\u201cWe know that many women do not report, out of fear, shame, or distrust of the system\u2026 International studies suggest that barely one in ten victims seek formal help. This reality forces us to rethink our strategies, to multiply the entry points to the protection system, to promote an effective culture of reporting where real answers are obtained,\u201d said the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n“But, we also humbly recognize that this is not a job we can do alone. Close collaboration with the Ministry of Women, with the Attorney General’s Office, with civil society organizations, is essential.”\n\n“Each institution contributes an essential piece: we provide the immediate response and protection; the Ministry of Women, psychosocial support; the Attorney General’s Office, judicial prosecution. Only by working as a perfectly coordinated gear can we ensure that no woman is left unprotected.”\n\nRaful announced the launch of the “Punto VIDA\u201d<\/strong> program, a surveillance, identification, reporting, and assistance system.\n\n\n

Only welcoming, protecting, and connecting with the specialized help she needs.
