{"id":492569,"date":"2025-11-26T16:32:29","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T20:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/uasd-hosts-international-panel-on-disability-putting-myself-in-your-shoes-to-promote-empathy-and-inclusion\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T16:32:29","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T20:32:29","slug":"uasd-hosts-international-panel-on-disability-putting-myself-in-your-shoes-to-promote-empathy-and-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/uasd-hosts-international-panel-on-disability-putting-myself-in-your-shoes-to-promote-empathy-and-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"UASD hosts International Panel on Disability \u201cPutting Myself in Your Shoes\u201d to promote empathy and inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"Santo Domingo<\/strong>.- The Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Santo Domingo (UASD<\/a>), through the Faculty of Humanities, the School of Psychology and the Chair of Differential Psychology, held this Tuesday, November 25, the International Panel Discussion on Disability, under the slogan \u201cI put myself in your shoes: I walk with you with empathy and education<\/strong>\u201d, with the aim of strengthening institutional awareness and commitment towards a more accessible, just and humanist society.\n\nThe activity, coordinated by teacher Zoraida de Le\u00f3n, took place at 2:00 p.m. in the Paraninfo Andr\u00e9s Avelino, where national and international specialists gathered to speak on educational, social, and labor inclusion, as well as share life experiences and institutional perspectives.\n\nActivist and mother, Raquel Quezada, a defender of the rights of people with disabilities, opened the panel with the theme “I put myself in your shoes: solutions from the shoes of a mother for disability.” Following this, architect Rosario Nicasio de Frigati presented the presentation “Lives that flourish: how employment boosts the talent of each person,” highlighting the impact of labor inclusion.\n\nTeacher Norma Duarte addressed the “Developmental Neuropsychology: assessment, diagnosis, and functional intervention for inclusion,” while psychologist Nancy Urb\u00e1ez shared her reflection “A look from my role as a mother and psychologist,” accompanied by an artistic presentation performed by her son, which marked one of the most emotional moments of the event.\n\n\n
You can also read: Candidate for rector of UASD presents the axes of his proposal<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\nThe panel continued with the participation of Juan Jos\u00e9 Camilo, from the Institute of Special Education and Therapies (IEET), and Mirelis Santos Pimentel, from Alpha Inversiones, who presented “Breaking barriers with De Par en Par: inclusion in action<\/strong>“, exposing real experiences of talent with disabilities in said company.\n\nAlso, Julio Figuereo shared his motivational testimony “Demonstrating my abilities gives me power”, highlighting the value of autonomy and the recognition of diverse abilities.\n\nDr. Enid Gil presented the topic “University inclusion: advances and challenges at UASD<\/strong>“, in which she detailed concrete steps taken by the academy towards more accessible educational policies. Subsequently, specialist Rosanna Santana, executive director of Abraza Consultores, presented “Overcoming barriers in labor inclusion: First inclusive employment practices program (PEI)”.\n\nArtistic closure and final message\n\nThe day concluded with the performance of the song \u201cInclude Me\u201d, by La T\u00eda Nancy and Lorena Frigati, an artistic closing that sought to provoke reflection and empathy among those present.\n\nUASD reaffirmed its commitment to a humanist and inclusive education, promoting spaces for dialogue, awareness, and participation that strengthen respect for human dignity and promote a more accessible, equitable, and supportive society.\n\n\n
