\n\n\n\nSilver for Andrea Pigozzi in water skiing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nIn the competitions held at the Club N\u00e1utico Bujama Lacus, Andrea Pigozzi<\/strong> took the silver medal in men’s jump<\/strong>, achieving a record of 49.90 meters<\/strong>.
The Chilean Sergio Barrientos Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> dominated the event with 56.20 meters<\/strong>, while Jos\u00e9 Browne Bezanilla<\/strong> obtained the bronze with 46.40 meters<\/strong>.\n\nDominican Paolo Pigozzi<\/strong> finished fourth with 45.80 meters<\/strong>.\n\nIn the figures modality, Paolo finished fifth with 2,360 points<\/strong> after two falls that affected his execution. Andrea did not advance to the final, finishing in 12th position with 200 points.\n\nIn slalom, Andrea was fifth and Paolo sixth, while Francesca Pigozzi<\/strong> finished fifth in women’s figures, fourth in jump (28.10 meters) and fourth in slalom.\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nTaekwondo brings three bronze medals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nIn the Ayacucho Convention and Exhibition Center, three Dominicans took to the podium at the opening of the taekwondo:\n\n\n
\u2022 Pedro Luis Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> \u2013 bronze (-68 to -80 kg)<\/h3>\n\n\nHe won by technical knockout (RSC) against Luis Acosta<\/strong> (Venezuela) in the quarterfinals, but fell 1-2 in the semifinals against the Colombian Miguel Trejos<\/strong>.\n\n\n
\u2022 Sa\u00fal Taveras<\/strong> \u2013 bronze (58 to -68 kg)<\/h3>\n\n\nDefeated 2-1 Elvio Costas<\/strong> (Bolivia) and lost 0-2 in the semifinals against Cristian Olivero<\/strong> (Chile).\n\n\n
\u2022 Mar\u00eda Pe\u00f1a<\/strong> \u2013 bronze (49 to 57 kg)<\/h3>\n\n\nWon 2-0 against Alicia Valdez<\/strong> (Paraguay) in the quarterfinals and lost 0-2 to Alexmar Sulbar\u00e1n<\/strong> (Venezuela) in the semifinals.\n\nAthlete Vanessa Lara<\/strong> did not advance past the quarterfinals in -49 kg.\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nField hockey finishes fourth<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nThe men’s team fell in a penalty shootout 2-3<\/strong> against Peru in the bronze medal match, after a 3-3<\/strong> draw in regulation time.\n\nThey scored for RD in the match Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda Pe\u00f1a<\/strong> (2 goals) and Bladis Quezada Cuevas<\/strong> (1).\n\nThe match was decided at the Andr\u00e9s Avelino C\u00e1ceres Sports Complex in Villa del Triunfo. Chile won the gold and Venezuela, the silver.\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nFencing is out in the quarterfinals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\nThe men’s sabre duo, made up of Gabriel Alfau Laracuente<\/strong> and H\u00e9ctor Palacios Murillo<\/strong>, fell 38-45<\/strong> to Peru in the quarterfinals.\n\nIn individual:\n\n\n
