{"id":494049,"date":"2025-12-09T17:10:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T21:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/popular-and-dna-begin-renovation-of-the-nunez-de-caceres-park\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T17:10:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T21:10:07","slug":"popular-and-dna-begin-renovation-of-the-nunez-de-caceres-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/popular-and-dna-begin-renovation-of-the-nunez-de-caceres-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Popular and DNA begin renovation of the N\u00fa\u00f1ez de C\u00e1ceres park"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>Santo Domingo, D.N. \u2013<\/strong> Banco Popular Dominicano and the National District City Hall (ADN) began the comprehensive renovation work of the N\u00fa\u00f1ez de C\u00e1ceres Environmental Park, in a new collaboration between both institutions in favor of a safer, more sustainable and accessible city for all.\n\nThe intervention contemplates a complete transformation of this 18,000-square-meter urban lung, located on one of the main avenues of the National District, and will include substantial improvements in infrastructure, security, accessibility, and lighting, as well as new recreational and sports areas for all ages.\n\nThis project is part of Banco Popular&#8217;s Responsible Banking model, aimed at the sustainable development of the country through strategic alliances that generate shared value. Through this vision, the financial organization continues to support the recovery of public spaces that promote coexistence, health, and collective well-being.\n\nThe Popular&#8217;s Senior Executive Vice President of National and International Business, Mr. Luis E. Esp\u00ednola, said that this initiative represents a concrete example of institutional responsibility towards citizen well-being, &#8220;we reiterate our commitment to continue being an agent of change in favor of a more humane country, with higher levels of well-being and opportunities for all.&#8221;\n\n&#8220;From our shared development vision, we firmly believe that citizen well-being is also built from public space: from those places that invite us to meet, play, rest, and be healthy. Places that not only beautify our cities, but also strengthen the social and family fabric,&#8221; the Popular executive underlined.\n\nOn her part, the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mej\u00eda, expressed her joy at starting the renovation that will return to users a park that has become a symbol of coexistence, because not only will a work of infrastructure be renovated, but also a commitment to the right of the people of the capital to enjoy more dignified, modern and human spaces will be reaffirmed.\n\n&#8220;Intervening comprehensively in this space with the help of a great ally like Banco Popular, whom I thank again, is another example of all that we can achieve when the public and private sectors combine for the benefit of the community,&#8221; he highlighted.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>A renovated park for the city<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\nThe design of the new park will include the total renovation of its perimeter walking path, interior sidewalks with universal accessibility, gardens and reforested green areas, as well as the restoration of the park&#8217;s central sculpture. New inclusive children&#8217;s areas, a dog zone, an outdoor gym, spaces for climbing and skating will be enabled, in addition to renovated bathrooms and a community support office.\n\nAn even more efficient LED lighting system will also be installed, the electrical system will be automated to reduce energy consumption, and modern and informative signage will be implemented. As part of the sustainability approach, recycling collection points and urban furniture made with recycled materials will be placed.\n\nIn addition, artistic murals will be integrated to beautify the environment and promote a sense of community belonging.\n\nThe intervention also includes cleaning of filters, general painting, installation of a cistern, pruning of trees and planting of new ornamental species, with the aim of completely revitalizing this public space and returning it to the citizenry with optimal conditions for their enjoyment.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>A collaboration that transforms spaces<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\nThis new project joins the public space recovery program promoted by Banco Popular and the Mayor&#8217;s Office of the National District, through which 10 parks in different areas of the city have been renovated, including the Mirador Sur park, Las Praderas, Rosa Duarte, Villa Francisca, Velazcasas, Cristo Libre, Jardines Los Cerezos, El Pedregal, Buenos Aires del Mirador and Los Girasoles.\n\nMeanwhile, together with the First Lady, Mrs. Raquel Arbaje, in her role as president of the Cabinet for Children and Adolescents, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and SMEs (MICM), Banco Popular has renovated 7 parks, located in the towns of Moca, Boca Chica, La Vega, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, at the San Isidro Air Base and in Santiago.\n\nThe Banco Popular&#8217;s participation in this type of intervention reaffirms its commitment to the Principles of Responsible Banking and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in favor of a sustainable urban transformation and actions that promote inclusion, equitable access to green spaces, and the strengthening of the social and family fabric.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Santo Domingo, D.N. \u2013 Banco Popular Dominicano and the National District City Hall (ADN) began the comprehensive renovation work of the N\u00fa\u00f1ez de C\u00e1ceres Environmental Park, in a new collaboration between both institutions in favor of a safer, more sustainable and accessible city for all.
