The proposal establishes three categories within the police career \u2014Directive, Intermediate and Patrol Agent\u2014, incorporates new patrol protocols, strengthens police training and prioritizes respect for fundamental rights.\n\nThe initiative was developed after a consultation process throughout the country with entrepreneurs, religious leaders, and members of the institution, and according to the promoters, it seeks to modernize the National Police and adapt it to the new times.\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Other Senate Approvals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\nIn Tuesday&#8217;s session, the Senate approved:\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>On first reading<\/strong>, the project that modifies article 38 of Law 590-16 and creates the <strong>Specialized Police in Search and Rescue of Missing and Kidnapped Persons<\/strong>, proposed by Senator Aracelis Villanueva.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>On first reading<\/strong>, the project of <strong>amnesty for the registration or voluntary surrender of irregular firearms<\/strong>, an initiative of Senator Franklin Romero.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The designation of the auditorium of the CUR-UASD S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez as <strong>\u201cBienvenido Antonio L\u00e1zala Fabi\u00e1n (\u00d1\u00e9\u00f1\u00e9)\u201d<\/strong>, proposed by Ricardo de los Santos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>On second reading<\/strong>, the designation of the athletics track of La Romana as <strong>\u201cProfessor Elpidio Encarnaci\u00f3n\u201d<\/strong>, and the courthouse of Montecristi as <strong>\u201cFederico Guillermo Juliao Gonz\u00e1lez\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Several resolutions for the construction of infrastructure, the installation of police barracks and recognitions to figures from sports and culture, including C\u00e9sar Ger\u00f3nimo, Vitelio Mej\u00eda, Junior Noboa and Emelda Ramos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Santo Domingo. \u2013 The Senate of the Republic sent to a Special Commission the Preliminary Draft of the Organic Law of the National Police, delivered this Monday by the legal consultant of the Executive Branch, Antoliano Peralta, in the office of the president of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos.
