According to a source, Pittsburgh reached an agreement with left-handed reliever Gregory Soto<\/strong> for one year and US$7.75 million<\/strong>, pending the results of the physical examination. The team has not yet made the official announcement.\n\n\n

The Dominican comes from a season in which he recorded a 1-5 record and an ERA of 4.18<\/strong> in 70 appearances<\/strong> between the Orioles and Mets, accumulating 60.1 innings<\/strong> of work.\n\n\n

Although his effectiveness has surpassed 4.00 earned runs in the last three campaigns, his peripheral statistics told a more encouraging story.     His repertoire includes a sinker between 90-95 mph, a devastating slider with 45.5% missed swings<\/strong>, as well as a four-seam fastball and a sweeper. Although opponents batted .314<\/strong> against his sinker in 2025, that average had been just .200<\/strong> in 2023, even though the pitch movement remains similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
