Santo Domingo.-<\/strong> Rafael Mart\u00ednez Hazim’s defense assured that they have demonstrated that the defendant has no family ties with Santiago Hazim Albainy, a central figure in the so-called Operation<\/a> Cobra, which involves the misappropriation of funds exceeding RD$15 billion pesos.<\/p>\n\n\nAccording to the statements offered by lawyer Carlos Balcacer, he described as “low density” the evidence that the Public Ministry collected to blame Rafael Mart\u00ednez Hazim, for which he hopes that a coercive measure will not be imposed on him because his “level of participation is minimal within the file”\n\nBalcacer pointed out that, of the RD$15 million that the prosecution alleges, only 33%, equivalent to RD$4 million, was “worked”, so this should be classified as “minor fraud”.\n\n\n
