Santiago. \u2013 The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Pe\u00f1a, <\/strong>stated this Friday that the Government will not cover up any person responsible for the alleged corruption scheme in the National Health Insurance (Senasa)<\/strong>. Likewise, she called on the population to exercise a \u201csocial sanction<\/strong>\u201d against those involved in the scandal that affects more than 11 million Dominicans affiliated with the system.<\/p>\n\n\nPe\u00f1a maintained that the citizenry must publicly reject those involved in the fraudulent maneuvers investigated by the Public Ministry.\n\n\n

“I expect from society that we socially punish and point out each of those people who did what you all know and has come out so far,”<\/strong> expressed the vice president, describing the case as a blow to institutional trust.<\/p>\n\n\nThe official reiterated that the Government maintains a zero-tolerance stance against any illicit act. “We did not come to govern to cover up acts of corruption. As soon as they are identified, absolutely nothing is hidden,” she assured.\n\nHe recalled that it is the Public Ministry, as an independent body, that is in charge of carrying out the investigation to its ultimate consequences, and he highlighted that the scandal demonstrates the need to strengthen control mechanisms in public institutions.
