Jos\u00e9 Antonio Kast has given his first public speech after winning the presidential elections held in Chile this Sunday. With 99.79% of the tables counted, Kast reaches 58.16% of the votes, surpassing his opponent, the leftist Jeannette Jara, who has 41.84%. On March 11th, Kast will receive the transfer of power from Gabriel Boric and will begin a period of government that will culminate in 2030.<\/p>\n
“Good evening, Chile. You don’t know the emotion one can feel seeing the affection, the joy, on this special day. It’s an incredible day,” proclaimed Kast from the stage. “When you see the history that accompanies us, you realize how important the different days are in which things happen, and this is the day of joy,” he affirmed.<\/p>\n
