{"id":494687,"date":"2025-12-15T20:41:54","date_gmt":"2025-12-16T00:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/santiago-court-imposes-up-to-seven-years-in-prison-on-network-that-scammed-the-elderly-in-the-us\/"},"modified":"2025-12-15T20:41:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T00:41:54","slug":"santiago-court-imposes-up-to-seven-years-in-prison-on-network-that-scammed-the-elderly-in-the-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/santiago-court-imposes-up-to-seven-years-in-prison-on-network-that-scammed-the-elderly-in-the-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Santiago Court imposes up to seven years in prison on network that scammed the elderly in the US"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santiago.-<\/strong> The First Instruction Court of the judicial district of Santiago sentenced this Monday to prison terms of up to seven years the members of the cybercrime structure dismantled in Operation Discovery 2.0, after finding them guilty of defrauding hundreds of elderly people in the United States through electronic fraud, with which they managed to steal millions of dollars.<\/p>\n\n\nIn the sentence, 17 natural persons and two legal entities were convicted, after their participation in a transnational criminal network operating from Dominican territory was proven.\n\nAmong those sentenced is Miguel \u00c1ngel Camilo P\u00e9rez, alias Camilo or Milo, identified as one of the ringleaders of the network, who received seven years in prison.\n\nAlso, Freddy William Urtarte (Metra), Juan Armando V\u00e1squez Ram\u00edrez (Peligro), Erick \u00c1ngel Pe\u00f1a N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Hayler Andr\u00e9s Olivares N\u00fa\u00f1ez (Tripplehmusic), Kelvin Antonio Carmona S\u00e1nchez (Calvin) and Deuris Antonio Franco de la Cruz were sentenced to four years in prison.\n\nYou can also read:\n\nThe court also imposed four years of suspended prison sentences on Jonathan Jes\u00fas Rodr\u00edguez Bonilla (Tan Tan), Wilson Miguel Rodr\u00edguez Suero, Lorena Franchesca Antigua P\u00e9rez, Leslie Agnes Succart Gonz\u00e1lez, Glorisel Mart\u00ednez Peralta (Gloria), Yenny Carolina Corniel Henr\u00edquez (Jenny), Arlin Josefina Rosa Rosario (Tiny), Ram\u00f3n Esterling Polanco Leclerc (Ray or La L\u00ednea), Arnaldo Manuel Rosario Nolasco, and Luis Manuel Mart\u00ednez (White Boy).\n\nRegarding legal entities, the court ordered the judicial dissolution of Agnes Travel SRL and Urtarte\u2019s Paradise Call Center SRL, upon verifying that they functioned as operational fronts for the criminal network.\n\nAs part of the sentence, the court also ordered the millionaire seizure of vehicles, properties, bank accounts, and cash, linked to the illicit activities. The defendants were found guilty of violating Law 53-07 on High Technology Crimes and Offenses and Law 155-17 on Money Laundering.\n\nThe Discovery Operation 2.0, launched in 2023, included more than 15 simultaneous raids in the provinces of Santiago and Puerto Plata.
