The average salary of employees of the Electricity Distribution Companies (Edenorte, Edeeste and Edesur) increased by 4.0% in the last year according to data as of September, reaching RD$65,175.49.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, electricity losses, which reflect the unbilled purchased energy, increased from 37.5% in 2024 to 38.4% in 2025, equivalent to an increase of 2.6%.<\/p>\n
The number of employees in the EDEs is 7,491, after a reduction of 369 employees according to the difference between September 2024 and September 2025.<\/p>\n
However, spending on payroll remains the same, with 7,860 employees in September 2024, the EDEs had a payroll of US$7.8 million, the same amount as a year later, but with 7,491 employees.<\/p>\n
However, the relationship of billed clients per employee increased by 404 in the last year, which is equivalent to a growth of 7.2%. <\/p>\n
In September 2025, active customers increased by 1.9% (60,968 additional customers), reaching a total of 3,219,538. Billed customers grew by 2.1% (62,935 additional customers), for a total of 3,027,019. Collected customers rose by 5.6% (132,239 additional), reaching a total of 2,484,357.<\/p>\n
Regarding the measurement, the remotely measured customers were 1,762,202, with an increase of 10.2%, while the manually measured ones were 1,264,817, reflecting a decrease of 7.3%. This represents 58.2% of remotely measured customers and 41.8% of manual ones within the total billed.<\/p>\n
Between January and September of this year, due to the operational deficit of the EDEs, the Central Government had to transfer subsidies amounting to US$1,162.8 MM in those first nine months of the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
