Santo Domingo. <\/strong>\u2013 The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA<\/a>) closed the year 2025 consolidating its leadership in higher technological education in the Dominican Republic, with the graduation of 1,012 new professionals and the opening of two new academic extensions, reaffirming its commitment to the training of human talent for digital transformation and national development.<\/p>\n

During the year, ITLA held its XVIII and XIX ordinary graduations, in which 631 and 381 students, respectively, successfully completed their studies in various technological areas. The XVIII graduation became the largest in the history of the institution, marking a milestone in its 25 years of academic career.<\/p>\n

As part of its territorial expansion process, the Dominican government inaugurated two new ITLA extensions in San Francisco de Macor\u00eds and Cotu\u00ed, strengthening access to technological education in the Northeast and Central Cibao regions. Likewise, in 2025 the ITLA launched new institutional transport routes with established departure and return schedules, including the routes Av. Independencia \u2013 Av. Luper\u00f3n, Av. John F. Kennedy \u2013 San Vicente de Paul and La Romana, which will allow a reduction of more than 80% in the daily travel expenses of students.<\/p>\n

These actions add to the institutional strategy of decentralizing technical training and expanding opportunities for young people across the country.<\/p>\n

In the academic field, ITLA launched the Cybersecurity career in a blended learning modality at the Santo Domingo Norte campus and presented to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) the proposal for the creation of the first technological institute in Semiconductors and Microelectronics in the country. Likewise, ITLAcademy, its new continuous training platform aimed at increasing the productivity and competitiveness of Dominican industries, was launched; EmprendeTec, aimed at students, graduates and the general community, to support them from their first ideas to the validation of projects and the creation of real technological solutions; and ITLAlumni, the platform that connects graduates with the productive and strategic sector, for a job placement in more competitive positions.<\/p>\n

During 2025, the institution strengthened strategic alliances with national and international organizations. Among the most relevant agreements are those signed with the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) for first employment and internship programs; with INDOTEL for the opening of technology centers in six provinces; as well as agreements with the Public Ministry and the Chamber of Accounts, aimed at specialized training and institutional strengthening through the use of emerging technologies. Similarly, alliances were formalized with Pro-Competencia, the City Council of Santo Domingo Este, T-ECO Group, ANIFAR, ZFLA, the Salesian Society, ASOMERICA and the NECC of Massachusetts, among others, expanding opportunities for innovation, academic mobility and internationalization.<\/p>\n

The ITLA also significantly promoted inclusion and access to higher education by awarding more than 350 national scholarships together with MESCyT and launching the ITLA Scholarships program, which benefited more than 200 young people in areas such as academic excellence, women in ICT, and social scholarships.<\/p>\n

In terms of student performance, ITLA students obtained important national and international recognitions, standing out as the first higher education institution in the country to qualify for two NASA challenges, as well as multiple awards in hackathons, cybersecurity competitions, entrepreneurship, and technological creativity.<\/p>\n

In the realm of innovation and digital culture, ITLA made history by organizing the first inter-university Capture The Flag (CTF) of the Dominican Republic, within the framework of Security Fest 2025, with the participation of nine national universities. This event set a precedent in practical cybersecurity training and positioned ITLA as a pioneering institution in the development of advanced skills in computer security.<\/p>\n

As part of its strategic projection, the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Las Am\u00e9ricas became the first academy to host NVIDIA’s AI Academy in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, a milestone that strengthens training in artificial intelligence and places the country at the regional forefront in the development of advanced technological capabilities.<\/p>\n

When referring to the achievements reached, the rector of ITLA, Mtro. Rafael F\u00e9lix Garc\u00eda, highlighted that “the year 2025 represented a period of unprecedented institutional consolidation and growth for ITLA, reflected in the academic expansion, the strengthening of strategic alliances and the outstanding performance of our students. These advances reaffirm our commitment to continue contributing to the technological and productive development of the Dominican Republic.”<\/p>\n

With these results, the Technological Institute of the Americas reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the training of highly qualified professionals, contributing significantly to the strengthening of the national technological ecosystem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
