San Juan.-<\/strong> More than 25,000 customers<\/strong> of the company in charge of electricity transmission in Puerto Rico, <\/strong>LUMA Energy<\/strong>,<\/a> were left without electricity service on Wednesday night, Christmas Eve, due to “bad weather”, which has increased citizen frustration.<\/p>\n\n\n“Our crews are actively responding to outages caused by the bad weather in several communities including areas of Barranquitas, Can\u00f3vanas, San Juan, Vega Alta and Villalba (central and northern Puerto Rico),” the company indicated on its Facebook account.\n\nThe LUMA portal, in charge of the electricity supply, counted at 10:20 p.m. local time (2:45 GMT) a total of 25,880 customers without service throughout the archipelago, which has 1.5 million subscribers.\n\n\n

The Government of Puerto Rico filed a lawsuit last week before the Court of First Instance of San Juan, to declare the nullity of the LUMA contract.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
