Businessman with a long career<\/h2>\n\n\nBorn in Barcelona on February 21, 1954, Vilarrub\u00ed accumulated extensive experience in the management of international and Catalan companies and institutions.\n\nHe was Vice President of Rothschild Spain (investment bank), President of CVC Grupo Consejeros (investment holding company), and President of Willis S & C (insurance brokers and member of the administrative council of Willis Iberia).\n\nHe was also a member of various boards and organizations such as the SHE Foundation (Science, Health and Education, led by Dr. Valent\u00ed Fuster), and a member of the governing council of the Catalan employers’ association Foment del Treball (Catalan business owners’ organization), among other positions.\n\nMarried to businesswoman Sol Daurella, before joining FC Barcelona as vice president in 2010, he was a director at Telef\u00f3nica from 1996, but he resigned in 2001.\n\nPreviously, he had directed the public entity that manages the lotteries of the Generalitat until 1988 and had been secretary general of the Catalan Radio and Television Corporation.\n\nIn 1992, he was the CEO of Grand Pen\u00ednsula, a company that promoted the Port Aventura theme park, but he resigned due to disagreements with the then main promoter of the project, Javier de la Rosa.\n\n\n
