{"id":495900,"date":"2025-12-28T21:28:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T01:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/the-merengue-shines-in-show-by-milly-villalona-and-the-conjunto-quisqueya\/"},"modified":"2025-12-28T21:28:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T01:28:10","slug":"the-merengue-shines-in-show-by-milly-villalona-and-the-conjunto-quisqueya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/entertainment\/the-merengue-shines-in-show-by-milly-villalona-and-the-conjunto-quisqueya\/","title":{"rendered":"The merengue shines in show by Milly, Villalona and the Conjunto Quisqueya"},"content":{"rendered":"Santo Domingo.- In the Dominican Republic, Christmas is synonymous with merengue, and it was this rhythm that managed to fill the Teatro La Fiesta of the Jaragua hotel to its full capacity with the dance concert D\u2019parranda navide\u00f1a, starring Milly Quezada, Fernando Villalona, and the Conjunto Quisqueya.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first group to take the stage was Conjunto Quisqueya, performing their well-known seasonal songs, which has made them a traditional orchestra of Dominican Christmases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You might be interested in:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\nPeople stood up from the moment the show started, taking their partners and dancing to the rhythm of La Juma, La banda borracha, Jocosidades, La juma II, Los males de micaela, Bebo hoy, En nene se despert\u00f3, Mar\u00eda Cristina, La parranda Quisqueya and one of the most sung, Mi piel, also called \u201cMira como se me pone\u201d, performed by Javish Victoria.\n\nThe sound of this band, based in Puerto Rico, but all Dominican, impacted the public to such an extent that even the youngest got up to dance and went to experience their music live.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Thank you for always welcoming us with that joy, that makes us feel more than good, because we realize the affection they have for us,&#8221; said Javish.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe Quisqueya continued to infect the public with songs like La rosa blanca, Felic\u00edtame, to finish with La trulla navide\u00f1a, leaving the attendees wanting more.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Queen of Merengue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe party continued with Milly Quezada, who took the stage with the joy that characterizes her and started with Volvi\u00f3 Juanita, one of her most popular merengues of her entire career, released during the Christmas season of 1984.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/db522dea-b114-4ef6-98a3-4189599491b9-1024x688.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-586708\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\nOther merengues were La que me rob\u00f3 tu amor, Toma mi vida, Solo contigo, Porque me amaste, Para darte mi vida, La guacherna, Se form\u00f3 el rumb\u00f3n, La pimienta es la que pica, Lo tengo todo, En tus manos and Lo m\u00edo es m\u00edo, among others.\n\n&#8220;I want to thank the affection and support of all that audience that accompanies us tonight, we are going to have a good time, because that&#8217;s what we came for,&#8221; said an emotional Milly Quezada.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fernando Villalona<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe closing act was by a great, Fernando Villalona, who had one of his best performances in many years, as recognized by the audience.\n\nIt began with El Quijote, a meringue that no one danced to, as the audience took that moment to stand up, record, and take photos of the artist with their cell phones.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ab.deultimominuto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/3e7140c0-4ebe-498f-bcfb-566def4cf571-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-586709\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\nHe continued with the Christmas theme &#8220;D\u00e9jame volver&#8221;, written by the deceased singer Feliz Cumb\u00e9, one of the most beautiful songs by El Mayimbe.\n\nThey were followed by Cama y mesa, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ShqQbwQUnLo&amp;list=RDShqQbwQUnLo&amp;start_radio=1\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ShqQbwQUnLo&amp;list=RDShqQbwQUnLo&amp;start_radio=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I love you too much<\/a><\/strong>, Tabaco y ron, El gusto and one that can never be left out: Soy dominicano.
