LIDETA Christmas Cup<\/strong>, which was dedicated to the journalist and head of information of the newspaper <strong>List\u00edn Diario<\/strong>, <strong>Tom\u00e1s Aquino M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, and to the <strong>Administrative Vice Minister of Social Management of the Presidency<\/strong>, <strong>Juan Garrig\u00f3 Mej\u00eda<\/strong>.\n\nThe tournament, which attracted hundreds of fans during the <strong>regular, semifinal, and final<\/strong> stages, was organized by the <strong>Liga Deportiva Tamayo<\/strong>, led by the young athletes <strong>Roide Cuevas Jim\u00e9nez, Wagner Geraldo, and Jairo Cuevas<\/strong>.\n\nThe last match, not for the faint of heart, with the final series tied at one, saw the <strong>Uvilla<\/strong> team leave through the front door of a tournament where <strong>discipline, fellowship and camaraderie<\/strong> reigned, full of color, typical of the Christmas holidays, and where the <strong>organizational capacity<\/strong> and the <strong>harmony of the protagonists (athletes)<\/strong> were demonstrated.\n\n&#8220;This basketball tournament marks the beginning of a new era where local talent begins to develop to regain the sporting hegemony of this municipality of Tamayo,&#8221; the organizers assured.\n\nThe event had the important support of national and local personalities, whom the organizers thanked for their support and trust.\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tamayo, Bahoruco. \u2013 The \u201cLIDETA Christmas Cup\u201d tournament concluded with resounding success, held in this municipality with the participation of 8 teams and the so-called Zona Ca\u00f1era, which involves towns belonging to the Consorcio Azucarero Central, formerly Ingenio Barahona.
