{"id":496772,"date":"2026-01-04T20:36:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T00:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/cuba-warns-latin-america-and-the-caribbean-of-imminent-threat-after-attack-on-venezuela\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T20:37:45","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T00:37:45","slug":"cuba-warns-latin-america-and-the-caribbean-of-imminent-threat-after-attack-on-venezuela","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/international\/cuba-warns-latin-america-and-the-caribbean-of-imminent-threat-after-attack-on-venezuela\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba warns Latin America and the Caribbean of “imminent threat” after attack on Venezuela"},"content":{"rendered":"Havana.-<\/strong> Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, warned this Sunday that Latin America and the Caribbean<\/strong> have “an imminent challenge and threat” following the recent US military attack against Venezuela.\n\nDuring an extraordinary meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac)<\/a><\/strong>, Rodr\u00edguez considered that it is an “existential threat of a historical and transversal nature to all political and ideological lines.”\n\nThe island’s Foreign Minister advocated that “all the States of Celac put aside their differences to collectively defend the bases of the independence and sovereignty of the countries in the area in the face of that threat.”\n\nHe stressed that Cuba rejects Washington’s “brutal intention” to impose “instruments of domination” with which they treat Latin America as a “backyard” because “it is not a disputed territory, it belongs to no one other than the sovereignty of the peoples.”\n\nHe also said that it is urgent to mobilize all diplomatic and political efforts to demand the “immediate release” of Nicol\u00e1s Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, as well as to demand due respect for Venezuelan territorial integrity and independence.\n\n\n

“The accountability of those responsible for the aggressions must be demanded,” stated the Cuban chancellor, and he spoke out against allowing “force and barbarism to prevail over international law” and for “the sovereignty of a brotherly people not to be sacrificed.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
