Puerto Plata. <\/strong>\u2013 Following the interest of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, the general director of the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Food (DASAC<\/a>), Edgar Augusto F\u00e9liz Arbona, deployed the institution’s mobile kitchens to provide food assistance with cooked food to hundreds of families affected by the intense rains recorded in the last hours in the province of Puerto Plata.<\/p>\n\n\nAccording to the protocol established for these cases, the mobile kitchens began this Monday, from the early hours of the morning, an operation to distribute cooked food rations in different sectors of the San Felipe de Puerto Plata municipality, as well as in other points of the province, which was supported by the Provincial Governor, Claritza Rochtte, and coordinated by the sub-director of DASAC in the area, Francisco Garc\u00eda.\n\nIn addition to the delivery of hot food rations in the affected areas, all rescue personnel working on the tasks of moving and saving the affected families whose homes have been flooded by torrential downpours also receive food assistance.\n\n\n

You can also read:<\/strong> Mayor Ana Reyes celebrates Three Kings Day for the second year in Las Galeras<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nEdgar Augusto F\u00e9lix Arbona, declared that the first thing is to ensure the feeding of people who have nowhere to cook because their utensils and belongings have been damaged by water, that is the first part of the protocol.\n\n“The first thing we do in a case like this is to ensure the feeding of those affected, taking hot food wherever they are, then our team conducts a survey to determine the damage to homes and household belongings,” he explained.\n\nHe said that it is necessary to wait for the waters to recede in order to quantify the damage and be able to provide the necessary assistance to each of the families affected by these rains.\n\n“We must wait for the waters to recede and the ground to dry so that DASAC technicians can carry out the survey and, if necessary, then assist those affected according to the damage suffered,” he detailed.\n\nThe official revealed that in the coming hours, other mobile kitchens will be arriving in Puerto Plata to assist in other sectors that have also been impacted by the rains to continue expanding assistance.\n\n“It is in the interest of our president, Luis Abinader Corona, who has been closely monitoring this unfortunate situation and with whom I have spoken several times to inform them of the actions carried out by DASAC, that assistance be provided immediately, that the lives of each of the members of those families be protected and that they feel accompanied by a Government that watches over the well-being of its people,” he emphasized.\n\nThe director of DASAC indicated that, through the Provincial Government and the deputy director, Francisco Garc\u00eda, a survey is being carried out to identify and quantify the people affected throughout the province of Puerto Plata, in order to continue providing timely responses to the affected families.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
