He is a native of the municipality of <strong>Moca, Espaillat province.<\/strong>\n\nThe new head of <strong>Customs<\/strong> holds a doctorate in <strong>Law from the Universidad Central del Este<\/strong> and is the founder of the law firm <strong>Arroyo &amp; Asociados.<\/strong> In the political arena, he has an extensive career, having been elected councilman of San Pedro de Macor\u00eds in 1998, civil governor in the year 2000, and deputy to the National Congress for three consecutive terms, from 2006 to 2016.\n\nDuring his legislative management, he chaired the Accounts Chamber commission and was a member of the Justice Commission, in addition to serving as a spokesperson for both the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) caucuses.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Santo Domingo.\u2013 The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader appointed Nelson Arroyo as the new Director General of Customs, through Decree No. 3-26, as part of the recent changes made in the government to strengthen strategic areas of the State.
