Caracas, Venezuela<\/strong>.\u2013 The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, dismissed this Wednesday Major General Javier Marcano T\u00e1bata<\/strong>, who served as head of the Presidential Honor Guard<\/strong> of Nicol\u00e1s Maduro and director of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM)<\/strong>, in a decision that deepens internal tensions within the State’s security apparatus following the recent US military intervention.<\/p>\n\n\nAccording to information handled in high circles of power, Marcano T\u00e1bata is accused of serious misconduct, including alleged communications with external actors in the days prior to the United States military operation. These versions have fueled the theory about the possible existence of an infiltrator within the security circle closest to the Venezuelan president.\n\nIn place of the dismissed general, Rodr\u00edguez appointed General Gustavo Gonz\u00e1lez L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, who assumes the head of the Presidential Honor Guard in a context of reconfiguration and strengthening of the regime’s security system.\n\n\n
