Leases are not defended in the same way: you have to be an owner,” he said.\n\n“Countries have to have property; and property is defended, leases are not defended; and we will have to defend Greenland,” he continued.\n\nThe American leader also tried to clarify that the possible actions of the U.S. in Greenland, which according to the White House may include the use of the country’s armed forces to take over the Danish territory, do not mean that it is against NATO.\n\n“NATO has to understand that I am totally in favor of NATO. I saved NATO. If it weren’t for me, they wouldn’t have NATO right now,” he stated.\n\nTrump ended up pointing out that he maintains good relations with the leaders of China, Xi Jinping, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, although he is “very disappointed” with the latter.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
