:De la Cruz and Taveras lead victory of the \u00c1guilas against the Leones<\/a><\/p>\n\n\nThe activity, the first of four similar ones in various regions of the country, was organized by the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), the management of the Dominican team heading to the World Baseball Classic, and Major League Baseball (MLB) as part of its community outreach and sports legacy program, in an initiative that seeks to directly impact new generations through the teaching of values, discipline, and the fundamentals of the game.\n\nThe clinic, held at the Luis Mar\u00eda Herrera stadium under the scorching southern sun, featured the participation of prominent sports authorities, leaders, and historical figures of baseball, who shared their experiences and knowledge with the young players of the region.\n\nDuring the day, the children participated in technical stations, game dynamics, and an exciting Home Run Derby, in an environment of learning, motivation, and healthy coexistence.\n\n\nThe event was led by Juan N\u00fa\u00f1ez, president of the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOBE); Kelvin Cruz, Minister of Sports; Nelson Cruz, the general manager of the Dominican team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Miguel Matos, director of the MLB office in the Dominican Republic and Henry Gonz\u00e1lez, director of International Operations of MLB.
\u201cWith this activity we fulfill one of the purposes of our federation\u201d, said N\u00fa\u00f1ez. \u201cI thank all the coaches and presidents of associations in the region for heeding this call\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\nThe renowned Banilejo baseball players Rafael Landestoy, Miguel Tejada, and Cristian Guzm\u00e1n supported the training initiative.\n\nAlso present were Vitelio Mej\u00eda Ortiz, president of LIDOM; Luis Mej\u00eda Oviedo, president of Centro Caribe Sports, and Jos\u00e9 Monegro, president of the Organizing Committee of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, along with the official mascot Col\u00ed.\n\nThe next regional clinics will be this coming Friday the 16th at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium in San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, then on Saturday, January 24th at the Micalo Berm\u00fadez stadium in Santiago and finally on Thursday the 29th at the Quisqueya stadium.\n\n\n
