It was a fair expression, translating the pain of many of those involved in Jet Set,” he pointed out.\n\nThe legislator called the Espaillat brothers’ lawyer a “devil’s advocate” for his defense of what, in P\u00e9rez’s opinion, was indefensible.\n\n\n

You can read: Rubby P\u00e9rez’s sister calls Antonio Espaillat’s defense “devil’s advocate”<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nHe acknowledged that, although it is his job to defend his clients, society and family members label his actions as historic for having defended what caused so much pain.\n\nLikewise, Lidia P\u00e9rez criticized the indifference of the institutions to the magnitude of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of more than 400 people, including artists, athletes, workers of the place and other citizens.\n\n\u201cLives of people from all levels of Dominican society were lost and it seemed that there was indifference, as if they were just numbers,\u201d she said.\n\nThe deputy also emphasized the need for legislative measures and infrastructure supervision to prevent similar tragedies from happening again. She pointed out that a bill on construction supervision has been submitted, and asked the Executive Branch to support initiatives that guarantee safety in public and private buildings.\n\n“We want to see concrete actions. Not only that what the law says is done, but that steps are taken to ensure this does not happen again,” he affirmed.\n\nP\u00e9rez called on artists and musicians, as well as society in general, to recognize the magnitude of the tragedy and assume an active role in the memory of the victims.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
