The sentenced man had appealed the 15-year prison sentence and a fine of RD$200,000 handed down in 2023, which is why the court ordered the new trial.\n\nLitigating prosecutor Jenniffer Rodr\u00edguez detailed that the criminal<\/a>, having intimidated the victim, taking advantage of her minor age, and taking advantage of the trust given to him by her parents, sexually raped her on numerous occasions while the mother left her in his care.\n\n\n

After the complaint filed by the victim’s father before the Comprehensive Care Unit for Victims of Gender, Intrafamily and Sexual Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Santiago, the gathering of evidence began.\n\nThe teenager recounted the events to the representatives of the prosecuting body, despite the trauma suffered, and was able to identify and call her aggressor by name. Using the coherent testimony of the aggrieved party, and the forensic examinations that were carried out to corroborate her narrative<\/strong>, the Santiago Prosecutor’s Office processed the arrest warrant against the accused before the competent judicial body.\n\nAccording to the testimony obtained from the minor victim, through the Center for Interviews<\/a> for People in Vulnerable Conditions, Victims and Witnesses of Crimes, the accused assaulted and sexually violated her since she was 9 years old. During this time the teenager lived in fear, as the aggressor threatened to tell lies to her mother and stepfather so that they would punish her; he also threatened to hit and kill her.\n\n\n
