Carney responded to the threat from US President Donald Trump to\u00a0impose a 100% tariff\u00a0on imports from Canada if the United States&#8217; northern neighbor moved forward with a\u00a0trade agreement\u00a0with Beijing.<\/p>\n\n\nCarney said that his recent agreement with China simply reduces tariffs in a few sectors that were recently affected by tariffs.\n\nTrump claims the opposite, publishing: &#8220;China is successfully and completely taking over the once great country of Canada. China responded by imposing 100% import taxes on Canadian canola oil and flour, and 25% on pork and seafood.
