{"id":498625,"date":"2026-01-27T13:20:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T17:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/celebration-of-the-graduation-of-the-first-promotion-of-the-industrial-startups-acceleration-program\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T13:20:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T17:20:06","slug":"celebration-of-the-graduation-of-the-first-promotion-of-the-industrial-startups-acceleration-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/celebration-of-the-graduation-of-the-first-promotion-of-the-industrial-startups-acceleration-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebration of the graduation of the first promotion of the Industrial Startups Acceleration Program"},"content":{"rendered":"Santo Domingo. –<\/strong> The Industrial Development and Competitiveness Center (Proindustria<\/a>) held this Tuesday the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Industrial Startups Acceleration Program, an initiative developed in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Loyola Polytechnic Institute (IPL), aimed at strengthening the industrial innovation ecosystem of the Dominican Republic.\n\nThe event took place in the Regency Hall of the Dominican Fiesta Hotel, where authorities, strategic allies, and entrepreneurial teams gathered to celebrate the closing of the training phase of the program, which formally began with the signing of the inter-institutional agreement on May 30, 2025, continued with its training phase between August and November of that year, and culminated with this graduation ceremony.\n\nThe day began with the screening of a summary video that compiled the main milestones, training activities, mentoring, and prototyping processes developed during the program. Subsequently, the Rector of the Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico Loyola (IPL), P. Jos\u00e9 Victoriano, S.J., addressed those present, congratulating the participants for their dedication, effort, and capacity for innovation, highlighting the relevance of continuing to strengthen their projects as part of the country’s productive development.\n\n\n

As a result of this alliance, the Industrial Innovation Laboratory was created, and a first phase was developed that included sixteen intensive training sessions on topics such as business model, minimum viable product, finance, marketing, intellectual property and business formalization,\u201d he said.\n\nFrom her side, the UNDP Resident Representative in the Dominican Republic, Ana Mar\u00eda D\u00edaz, congratulated the graduates and highlighted the importance of these initiatives. “From the perspective of human development of UNDP, development consists of expanding the richness of human life, not just the richness of the economy, and this is the true value of programs like this,” she indicated.\n\n“That your vision is not just to create companies or produce, but to expand people’s capabilities to decide, innovate and build sustainable livelihoods. Your projects demonstrate that it is possible to develop competitive business models by putting people, the territory and the planet at the center. Initiatives like this expand capabilities, reduce the risks of entrepreneurship, strengthen productivity and create real opportunities, especially for young people and for those who have historically had less access to these spaces,” he highlighted\n\nIn that same order, the Resident Representative of JICA in the Dominican Republic, Kota Sakaguchi, valued the joint work between Japan and Proindustria for the construction of an ecosystem of industrial startups in the Dominican Republic, as well as the articulation with UNDP and IPL to promote innovation and the creation of new industries.\n\nWhen referring to the graduates, the JICA representative stated that “this innovation project is clearly aimed at creating new industry in the Dominican Republic. This is the engine for the creation of a new industry in the Dominican Republic. And we, JICA, have been working in cooperation for 62 years. We work in environment, education and health, but one of our most important activities is to increase the competitiveness of the Dominican Republic. This project, and you, are a new and real engine for industry creation,” emphasized Sakaguchi.\n\nThe central words of the ceremony were delivered by the general director of Proindustria, Rafael Cruz Rodr\u00edguez, who maintained that this first acceleration program for Industrial Startups has a special value because “it was conceived in two fundamental industrial subsectors for the present and future of the Dominican Republic: the food industry, as a pillar of our food security and productive development, and the renewable energy sector, as a firm commitment to a sustainable, innovative and environmentally responsible growth model.”\n\n“Today, 27 entrepreneurs who decided to believe in their ideas and take on the challenge of turning them into viable, structured projects with a vision for growth are graduating. Each of you represents a story of effort, learning, and determination, but also a promise of transformation for our productive ecosystem,” he added.\n\nDuring the event, certificates were awarded to the 27 participants who successfully completed the acceleration process, representing 20 projects developed within the framework of the program, which impacted eight provinces of the country, including Gran Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Crist\u00f3bal, La Romana, Valverde (Mao) and San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, among others.\n\n\n

Graduates<\/p>\n\n\nAs part of this first promotion, the entrepreneurs Laury Emmanuel J\u00e1quez (TechNova Systems), Gregory Reyes (AgroTech), Magnolia Ortiz Rodr\u00edguez (Kerymag), Andr\u00e9s Javier S\u00e1nchez (Energ\u00eda T\u00e9rmica Solar), Mia Sophia Abreu \u00c1lvarez and Praxides Abreu Peguero (CDIO, SRL \u2013 Yerbatero), Clara Stephany Herasme Grull\u00f3n (HSnackies), Manuela Javier de los Santos and Jazmiry Hoyte Urbea (Econom\u00eda Circular), Miguel Antonio Suero R. (Misu Plus Global Services SRL), Alexander Vallejo (Energ\u00eda E\u00f3lica Urbana), Elvin N\u00fa\u00f1ez (Fruta liofilizada), Ayban C. Garc\u00eda Polanco (Fermentador de cacao), Felipe A. Cruz Cerda (Calentador de fluidos con energ\u00eda solar concentrada) and Juana L. Disla Rosario (BIONIX) received their certificates.\n\nAlso, this first cohort includes Franklin Vladimir, David W. Lantigua and Yohon M. Lantigua Cruz (Yohon Electr\u00f3nics), Blacito Suza\u00f1a (Bio syngas), Griselda Veras (Industrias Merengue SRL), Juana Ruddy Aquino Cruz (T\u00e9 sano), Rosy M. Valdez Lorenzo (Ecotrayect Bio-oil), Ana F. Tav\u00e1rez M\u00e9ndez (Inocuidad Gemela RD), as well as Garis Alejandro Santana, Juan And\u00fajjar, Geidi Y. Mora Mart\u00ednez and Juan F. Puello de Jes\u00fas (Ducela), who successfully completed the training process of the Industrial Startups Acceleration Program.\n\n\n

About the program<\/p>\n\n\nThe Industrial Startups Acceleration Program was conceived as a strategic commitment by Proindustria to accelerate innovation in the Dominican industry, through the development of viable and validated solutions with the potential for productive scaling.\n\nIts origin dates back to an initiative driven by Albania Rodr\u00edguez, a collaborator of Proindustria, after her participation as a scholarship recipient in a JICA knowledge co-creation program, aimed at the development of new industries through innovation.\n\nThroughout the training process, participants worked under the Lean Startup methodology, addressing idea validation, business model design, Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development, financial plan elaboration, growth strategies, marketing, sales, and intellectual property, culminating in a Pitch Day where they presented their projects.\n\nAmong the prototypes developed are initiatives such as Urban Wind Energy, Solar Thermal Energy, BIONIX, Misu Plus Global Services SRL, Ecotrayect Bio-oil and Kerymag, reflecting the program’s focus on solutions with productive, technological and environmental impact.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
