Santo Domingo.<\/strong>– The company Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) <\/strong>rejected this Saturday “assertions made in recent editorials and comments in the media” that suggest a “repeated breach of its contractual obligations”,<\/strong> the company reported in a statement published this Saturday.<\/p>\n

“The company has fully complied and continues to fully comply with all the commitments established in the Concession Agreement,”<\/strong> the company communicated.<\/p>\n

In that sense, he maintained that since VINCI Airports <\/strong>took control of Aerodom,<\/strong> investments have been made “sustained, verifiable, and visible”<\/strong> in airport infrastructure, including more than 75 million dollars in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n

According to the company, these investments include the construction of the new cargo terminal and the renovation of the central atrium of Las Am\u00e9ricas International Airport, Jos\u00e9 Francisco Pe\u00f1a G\u00f3mez (AILA), in addition to the development of solar parks in all concessioned airports, with a total installed capacity exceeding 9 megawatts (mw).<\/p>\n

Likewise, Aerodom defended that during the last two years “it has executed key works at AILA such as the remodeling and expansion of the parking lots, the construction of a rainwater collection system, the integral renovation of the arrival and departure areas, including new ceilings, seats, floors and elevators, and the ongoing installation of a new automated baggage handling system”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regarding the new AILA terminal, the company stated that “throughout 2024 and 2025, an exhaustive and critical preparatory phase was carried out, which included specialized geotechnical studies, the integral design of the project, and the obtaining of the corresponding environmental permits.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The construction work on the project began in June 2025, with preparatory actions such as demolitions and land clearance, which have already been completed and have allowed the immediate execution of the main construction contract, signed in December 2025,” the company detailed.<\/p>\n

According to Aerodom, with the main contract in execution, the project continues its development phase according to the schedule established in the Concession Agreement signed with the Dominican authorities, with the completion of construction scheduled for the second half of 2028.<\/p>\n

This “last generation”<\/strong> project represents a total investment exceeding 350 million dollars, surpassing the amount originally committed in the Concession Agreement, he indicated.<\/p>\n
